Xmas

Have a magical Christmas

We always look forward to the Christmas holidays. Spirits are high and there is no escaping the urge to dance around to your favourite festive tune. Not only this, but it’s the season to spend time together as a family. There are so many different options for keeping the kids entertained over the Christmas period; here are some of our favourite ideas…

  1. Make paper chains
All you need are strips of colourful paper, scissors and glue. See how long you can make it and don’t forget to put it up as a decoration once you’re finished. You can buy ready cut strips from most craft shops for an easier alternative to cutting your own.
  2. Decorate a gingerbread man
Fun for all the family, no matter the age. Spread out all of the decorations for the gingerbread man in the middle of the table, within arm’s reach and see what everyone comes up with. You could even task each other with making it into a self portrait. Not only is the decorating fun, but everyone will enjoy eating these afterwards. Just remember to take pictures first!
  3. Get crafty
Encourage your kids to be environmentally friendly by making Christmas tree decorations out of recycled items and other bits and bobs you may find around the house. Whether it’s a reindeer out of an old yoghurt pot and pipe cleaners, snowmen out of old socks and buttons, or angels out of the card left over from the toilet roll. The possibilities are endless.
  4. Go for a walk to see the Christmas lights
With the winter light fading at around 4pm, it provides a great opportunity to fit in a family walk before dinner to see the Christmas lights your neighbours have put up. You will be surprised how creative some households can be.
  5. Watch a Christmas movie
Sometimes there is nothing better than snuggling up on the sofa with a warm drink and watching a family Christmas classic. Be sure to pick one the whole family will enjoy, there are loads to choose from.

On behalf of everyone here at Sodexo, we hope you have a magical Christmas.
